Sorry about the lack of news posts. Holiday times, new year, I've been workin' at my for-money job, Makro's been working on his, and I think TTI has been sampling the finest beverages that the Finnish cruise lines have to offer!

Speaking of TTI, using his wizardry of XML knowledge, he has added "Known Bugs" and "Feature Requests" to the sidebar on the left under the "Help" section. Now you can more easily see what we're working on, what we've already fixed, what remains, and you can even submit a new bug if you know of one that's not already in the bugtracking system!

Goin' slow but still goin'! I guess my earlier estimates for release were a bit enthusiastic. DOH! Sorry about that!

from what I've heard rq3standalone is hoax, joke, etc. there won't be a update tomorrow, this year or never. what actual progress have you seen in 5-7years? Nothing. Not single screenshot, demo, even duke nukem team was better :D. when you realize?

Yeah, coding is at a standstill. I need to advertise for a coder or five! Maybe on moddb or something. Anyone know any coders who would want to help? Standalone has work being done very slowly. Those working on it don't want to release pics or vids because it would get people's hopes up and we can't guarantee a release date. They feel that would be worse than no info at all. :(

While the clichéd Duke Nukem Forever comparison is hilarious, it's a bit unfair, as we surely haven't spent $20 million on this. We also don't have 35 full time employees to begin with. If you're so fed up with this so called "hoax", why are you still here? It seems like you make these troll posts on a regular basis, so obviously you care to some degree. I bet you'll be the first in line to download this sad excuse for a game!

well, I've waited so long that I've to test it out if it ever goes released, witch I doubt. Anyway AQ2-RQ3 scene or whatever has already died so badly that Im very suprised if there's more than 10-20 players on RQ3 servers after week of release. RQ3 wasen't that popular in it's best days. Meanwhile you were working new RQ3 release most of ACTION players has moved to next-generation online games like TF2. Therefore I can understand your progress is slow and just hoppy what you do whenever you fell like to it. It woulnd't be a miracle if rest of your team would loose last inspiration, that what you call time, to other projects and slow progress would change to no progress at all. What I think it mostly has been couple of years. Well maybe im wrong, you have worked hard. Release will be out someday and there will be thousands skilled fraggers. I just think I said what ppl who visit here really thinks ;).

I might also add that I was/am big fan of RQ3 and played/loved much the game. I would also help you if I could but im noskill loser in coding etc. Only thing I could do is test game for bugs but I belive/it should be/ by now mostly done.

Well, ok, we get that you're frustrated that progress has been slow, but please understand the other side of it--you dis'ing us and calling our work a hoax really sucks the morale and will to continue out of us. I mean, honestly, we're sorry we can't get this done to a condition that we want to release it in a timeframe quicker than we are, but we already know we're going slow and disappointing people and don't really need to be reminded of that. And no that's not some threat about "omg be nice or we quit!" as we have thicker skin than that, but geez, it'd be nice to get a break from being told how much we suck! ;) Ok, you can't really help and that's fine, it's not a "omg you're not allowed to criticize unless you have the skillz!" thing, either, but after a certain number of times voicing your frustration it's not being all that productive, either. Just sayin'.

Well I still enjoy playing the original game and get as much fun out of it as I did back in the day. OK so a new release would be nice but so would an all expenses paid trip to the south of France. A release will come one day, until then you should just ignore the Trolls and plod on at your own pace.

Not trying to be an a-hole or anything, but you could at least post some news (and i mean anything) on this page to keep us reminded that you still are working on this project even if there were no progress at all. Its been 3 months from the last news so no wonder people are starting to doubt that you have just abandoned the game without means to inform the ones coming to this site on a regular basis. peace!

monk is still posting updates. let's be patient... rq3 standalone. heh, i'd wait 25 years for that. i'll keep checking for updates till 2035. after that, monk, i'll start to doubt if there's really going to be a release or not

pk - I'm feeling the same thing. I haven't found a single fps that gives me the same kind of excitement and fun, fast pased kick-ass action as rq3 does. I really don't like the fps:s that are out there now so I'm stuck playing *beep*ty wow, sc2, HoN and other non-fps games

To Monk and all the game developers!! My gratitude for all the hard work you are doing and you have done till today. I'm waiting and will wait to play this fantastic quake mod whenever it would be released. Please take all the time you neen to finish it in a good way. Meanwhile I'll play RQ3 with queke 3 intalled in my computer. So thanks for all! From Zaragotham (Spain), let's continue!

Update time?

Ah crap, sorry guys, let me dig up an update in the next day or two, even if it's to say "not much done."

Since there's not enough resources at the moment to develop the rq3 standalone engine, why not put that project aside for the moment, and keep releasing new updates for the mod... RQ3 3.3 would be nice Just suggesting...

It's mostly code and menus at this point. And a 3.3 release would be... mostly code and menus anyway! So it's kind of the same thing if we went that route.

Venerable, it's so awesome cool to live in a cave like this in the picrute.It is a real test of survival. Makes me want to support you living in the cave excellent for meditation and seclusion. Also saw your wishlist on those requisites you need. Would like to support you by sending you those stuffs except the wireless leper microphone (i think it's not easy to get one, so temporarily can get you an MP4 for recording).
